Sometimes, I realise that I rush to get certain tasks off my list, to get that feeling of motivation and happiness. However, this is not a practical method to learn information, this is a recipe to memorise information for a short amount of timely. In this case, I am referring to studying for a big exam and then forgetting most of the content once it has concluded.
In the ‘Learning to Learn’ course, Barbara Oakley suggests that the best way to learn is by learning small amounts of information each day, repeating that content over time, instead of re-reading it over one week like I usually do. In addition to the concept of spaced learning, Barbara Oakley suggested utilising the flashcard app Anki. This app spaces out the information and identifies which topics need further revision; I have been finding it extremely helpful as it forces me to recall the information from my brain.
