Recently I had the fortunate opportunity to talk to someone well established in the physiotherapy field, which is the course I am currently studying. It was a very enlightening conversation that really motivated me to continue pursuing my course and eased my worries about my current lack of experience. The physiotherapist offered to be my mentor while expressing his love for his profession which he had been practising for many years. I expressed my concerns to him, specifically about the fact that I felt overwhelmed with all the content I have been learning in university and feeling like I wasn’t getting the necessary practical experience. Fortunately, he made it a point to state that what I was feeling was completely normal and he had been in my shoes years ago. He provided me with greater insight into what different physiotherapists do and why he loves his job. By the end of the conversation I felt very inspired by his passion, it gave me a great sense of drive which I had previously not had.
