Time is the most valuable resource on this planet, its something that we can’t buy but we all desire. Due to this, how we decide to spend our time determines the course of our lives.
With so many things to do and accumulating responsibilities, I find myself unable to organise my time, and ultimately this often leads to a lack of productivity. In “Eat That Frog”, Brian Tracy lists seven questions we should ask ourselves based on the notion that of all the tasks we have on our plate, three of those will bring us the most value and reward. This is true for every area in our life: work, relationships, health etc. The trick is that we must answer each question in 30 seconds which forces the brain to write only the most vital tasks and goals. Below is a list of the seven questions.
1. What are your three most important business or career goals right now?
2. What are your three most important family or relationship goals right now?
3. What are your three most important financial goals right now?
4. What are your three most important health goals right now?
5. What are your three most important personal and professional development goals right now?
6. What are your three most important social and community goals right now?
7. What are your three biggest problems or concerns in life right now?
By the end, we can see a written snapshot of our lives; where we thrive and where we need improvement and most of all, where we should be spending our limited time.
Personally, to answer question four, I would write: exercise regularly, consume more vegetables and spend more time outside. Now that I know what I consider most important, I plan to write down a list of ways to make those goals a reality.
