Activity does not always equal productivity.
I know everyone has experienced that moment when you finish a day full of activity and expect to be satisfied with all the tasks you completed but instead feel unaccomplished. I’ve experienced this more times than I can count, but presently I am aware of why.
As of late, I feel content with completing two or three activities if it means I learned something. This relates to the importance of focusing on the process rather than the product.
To ensure that I don’t fall into the trap of mindlessly completely tasks that are not important, I am implementing a new planning technique that involves listing no more than three important things to complete or start that day. Even if I am only able to finish one of those three things, I will be satisfied. I will record this planning technique in my planning journal and state whether it worked or not.
