In two days I will commence my 2nd year of university officially, although the majority of my classes will still be online, I am excited to be back on campus even if it is just for one day a week.
I’m also looking forward to utilising the new learning strategies I have been introduced to in the holidays and implement them in my studies. Some of the techniques I plan to use regularly are the Pomodoro technique, recalling information using flashcards and also studying in a variety of environments, rather than my room exclusively.
On my wall I have also posted up a chart separating tasks that are important, not important, urgent, and not urgent; I believe it will be very helpful to see all the tasks I must complete urgently.
However, as I mentioned in my previous posts, this year I will study with a different mindset. Rather than doing the best I possibly can, my new goal will be to pass and get a grasp of the important concepts. This involves the 80/20 rule; I will invest 20% of my time in my studies, and in return, my results will be 80%
This approach will definitely be difficult to adjust to, however, I am willing to do my best to develop this approach so I can pursue other enlightening and beneficial opportunities.
