Over the past two weeks, I have spent some of my time reading the ‘War of Art’ by Steven Pressfield and ‘Eat That Frog’ by Brian Tracy.
Both are enlightening books that share many similar points, one of them being the need to prioritise your most important tasks first instead of your most urgent tasks. ‘Eat That Frog’ repeatedly emphasised the importance of starting your day off with doing the most vital task first, whatever that may; it is often the task that you constantly want to avoid but feel accomplished completing.
“I’m keenly aware of the Principle of Priority, which states (a) you must know the difference between what is urgent and what is important, and (b) you must do what’s important first.” ~ Steven Pressfield
Often, I find myself completing many meaningless tasks rather than the one thing I really should be working on. Hence, by the end of the day, I feel unaccomplished and miserable. I plan to put into practice the lessons I’ve learnt from Steven Pressfield and Brian Tracy.
