Most of my life has consisted of consuming information. In school, university and work, we are expected to consume and learn an extraordinary amount of information. Consequently, not many people can say that they create more than they consume, including myself.
I have lived comfortably by trying to understand the content my teachers and professors have given me, however, I can say that this is not the best way to learn. Those who create more than they consume are seen as more successful and creative. I see this to be very true considering that creating is more engaging and stimulating to the brain. If this is the case, I wonder why we put so much attention on consumption rather than creativity. My guess is that it is easier to consume than create. However, the more challenging a task is, the more rewarding it is.
I wonder how much I will create this year.
